We Are Committed To Protecting The Environment
We’re Updating Our Packaging, Here’s Why!
We’ve always been committed to reducing our environmental impact and making decisions with the best intentions, based on the best information available at the time.
That’s why we previously introduced compostable pouches.
What We’ve Learned
As waste systems in the UK have evolved, one thing has become clear:
Sadly, compostable packaging hasn’t been adopted by most local councils and that fundamentally limits its real-world impact.
While our pouches are certified for industrial composting, in practice:
- Most councils do not accept compostable packaging in household waste or recycling collections
- It is often rejected at kerbside household waste and recycling streams
- The required composting facilities are not widely available across the UK
As a result, much of it ends up in landfill or incineration, rather than being composted as intended.
Our Decision: What Actually Works
We believe sustainability should be practical, not just well-intentioned.
So we’re transitioning to 100% recyclable packaging because it:
- Works within existing UK recycling systems already in place
- Is accepted at kerbside or via supermarket collection points
- Delivers a more consistent, measurable environmental outcome at scale
Why This Matters
We’d rather choose solutions that work within today’s systems, not ones that depend on infrastructure that doesn’t yet exist.
What This Means for You
- No change to product quality, safety, or freshness
- Simpler, clearer disposal through existing recycling streams
- Continued commitment to improving sustainability in a meaningful way
Our Commitment Going Forward
Sustainability isn’t static.
We’ll continue to review new materials, technologies, and systems so we can make the most responsible choices based on real-world impact, not assumptions.
