What is Cod Liver Oil?

Cod Liver Oil differs from other fish oils because it is a nutrient rich source of Vitamin A and Vitamin D, each of our capsules contains 100% NRV of both these vitamins.  Our Cod Liver Oil is sourced from the clean unpolluted waters of Iceland and comes from sustainable fisheries under governmental control. The Icelandic fish trade is one of their principal sources of income and great care is taken to ensure the quality of their produce, ensuring that the Cod Liver Oil is free from impurities.  The extensive refining process means that our capsules are virtually taste free.

Why take Cod Liver Oil capsules?

Cod Liver Oil contains the important essential fatty acids EPA and DHA. Clinical studies have proven EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart, brain and vision.  Essential fatty acids cannot be made within the body therefore they must be obtained from your diet. The Vitamin A found in cod liver oil contributes to maintenance of normal skin and Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and muscle function. Both vitamins contribute to the normal function of the our immune systems.

Because the supplier I have been using for decades has recently increased its prices by what I considered to be an unreasonable amount, that prompted me to shop for alternative sources. Just Vitamins seemed to offer comparable products on better terms, so I decided to try them.

It’s early days to assess the efficacy of the products, if indeed that is actually possible, but the cod liver oil capsules appear to be an acceptable equivalent to those have customarily been taking. I cannot yet comment on the glucosamine tabs because I still have a small stock of the previous supplier’s to use first.

Regarding the service, that was exemplary. The products arrived quickly and were well packed and although I find the blister packs of the previous supplier to be more convenient than the zip bags, the zip bags of Just Vitamins are sturdy and easily sealed. Based on this experience, I shall probably reorder from Just Vitamins as and when the need arises.
